For one day, Japanese music will overtake New York City. Kaori Kishitani (former lead singer of Princess Princess) and other musicians will be performing at the 7th Annual Japan Day @ Central Park in New York City on Sunday, May 14th.
The event was established in 2006 to help promote an understanding of Japanese culture and the arts to the New York community.
In addition to Kishitani, this year’s stage performers include early Japanese rocker Shinji Harada, global artist and ambassador Che’Nelle and rock legend Allan Merrill. The full schedule can be found here.
Past festival performers include Akiko Yano, AKB48, Jero and others.
If you’re in the city, stop on by. I hope to see you there!
